Oriol Soldevila

Director of Quality - Germany

In previous positions, Oriol Soldevila only saw one part of the manufacturing development chain, so he joined Lear Corporation as a Project Leader for more complete responsibility.

The Barcelona native studied industrial engineering and worked at various companies in Spain before starting at Lear's Valls, Spain, Center of Excellence in May 2003. In 2006 Oriol was promoted to Senior Project Leader to manage more complex products.

After work in terminals and connectors, in 2008 he moved back to broaden his career leading a product management team for junction boxes. In 2011, Lear offered him the opportunity in Germany as Quality Director for German OEMs. "Lear provides alternatives in different locations and I think people should do this more often," Oriol says.

Oriol praises three things about life at Lear. First, the team - he notes the tremendous commitment of team members, who motivate him to contribute his best on a day-to-day basis. Second, he marvels at the complexity of products Lear designs and manufactures. As he comments, "To design and produce a state-of-the-art product gives us a sense of what we're doing every day." Lastly, he commends Lear's flexibility since he feels strongly that the company gives "the freedom to the employee to decide and create strategies to fulfill yearly goals. It's not a company that determines for you what you need to do, it's a company that allows you to decide and participate in the next steps."

Lear provided additional training in business communication, team management, advanced project management and coaching for directives. When looking over his entire Lear career, Oriol says definitively, "When Lear is working together, it is unstoppable."
