Education Lear Asia HQ Supports Reading More Program

Lear Asia HQ Supports Reading More Program

In the spirit of giving back to the community, Lear Asia headquarters volunteers joined hands with Reading More, a Shanghai-based non-governmental organization, to assist the Minhang Hongmei Elementary School by organizing their library and books management system. The Reading More program is dedicated to developing children's book-reading habits and supporting communities in need regarding education.

Since the beginning of this year, Lear team members have contributed time and effort to the project during weekends. After several months' work, books contributed by charitable organizations were sorted, labeled, logged into the system and organized on the library shelves.

The school's children and teachers are now able to use the library more efficiently. The principal conveyed his gratitude to the Lear team for their passion and dedication and invited the Lear team to continue to more school participation.

Judy Xue (Sr. Attorney – Asia) who led the initiative said, "When one of my friends introduced this project to me, I was excited to get our Asia Legal team on board and gradually volunteers from other functions joined to help with this noble cause."

"It was indeed gratifying that the Lear team pulled together to help the school," added Amit Sharma (VP & Assoc. General Counsel, Asia). "I would like to thank all the colleagues who have spent their personal time during the weekends in the spirit of giving back to the community."
