Plant Manager
Tachov II (Stribro), Czech Republic

What is your role at Lear, and what you have been working on recently?

As the plant manager for Lear’s JIT facility in Stribro, Czech Republic, I am focusing on Seating business with our customer, BMW. We were recently awarded the new BMW 5- and 7-Series business and I have been involved in the whole process since Day One. We constructed the brand new Tachov II facility in Stribro, launched production and – most importantly - I lead a great team of very motivated people. So far, this has been the biggest challenge in my career, full of lessons and great satisfaction for the completed work.

What is your proudest moment at Lear?

The recent grand opening of the new Lear Tachov II facility. For me and my team, it was an official achievement of more than two years of hard work. And it was very successful and interesting to see the old pictures of when we started this challenging project and how far we have come in such a short time. It was definitely an experience that every team member as individuals and Lear as a company will profit from in the future.

What was your first job?

I started my professional career in late 2008. My first job was as production operator in a foam plant for another automotive company. Back then, I was working through a temporary agency as many of our employees are today. As you can see, I have been in the seating business from the very beginning. My next move was to process technician. Then, I got a position in continuous improvement and grew to quality where I stayed for a long time. My first job at Lear was also in quality, and after that I moved back to my roots in operations where I feel most happy and fulfilled.

How are you involved in supporting your local community?

Everyone in my family loves dogs. We have adopted four dogs from homeless animal shelters. Our hearts are open not only to dogs but to all animals in need. We support a foundation in our home country, Poland, that helps heal wild animals and return them to nature.
